Holiday villa with 3 bedrooms and private pool in Balchik area, close to traditional Bulgarian restaurant. BOOK YOUR RENTAL VACATION IN 2019 NOW!

Built in 2007 to a very high standard, villa Sentinela will surprise you with its quiet location just few kilometers to one of the most famous Black sea towns - Balchik and 7 km away from the popular Albena resort. This elegant villa has a terrific location just off the road linking both attractive destinations on the North coast. Villa Sentinela stands in the midst of the prime villa area "Ovcharovski plaj", surrounded by trees and a very well landscaped garden.

Unlike many other holiday properties, Villa Sentinela has been built, furnished and equipped as a second home of the owners - with commitment, care and love. Once you enter the house, you will definitely feel the coziness and the personal touch of the owners. Pastel colour of the interior, quality furnishing and modern equipment will make you feel in a home away from home.

The villa is spread out on 2 floors with a private pool with children section on the left side of the house. The ground floor comprises of a compact living area with an open-plan fully equipped kitchen, comfortable dining area with 6 seats and a lounge area with Satellite TV. The kitchen offers all modern facilities - refrigerator combined with a fridge, oven, 4 ceramic electric hobs, extractor, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, el kettle, all utensils. A shower-room is also available on the ground floor for maximum comfort of the rental guests. In an additional wet room is located the washing machine, iron and ironing board - very necessary especially for groups with children.

The stairs lead to the upper floor of the holiday home, where are the 3 bedrooms located - one twin bedroom and 2 double bedrooms (one of them en-suite). The twin bedroom is spacious enough for the extra folding bed to be placed. It is a very convenient option, if you have 3 children in the group. For sure, they will be happy to share one bedroom. One more guest could be accommodated in the folding sofa in the living room and that makes the maximum sleeping capacity of Villa Sentinela 6 + 2. With an access from the corridor there is a second shower-room on the same floor, which can be used by the guests in the other two bedrooms.

The living room has a direct access to the front of the house, where in the sunshine you will find the garden furniture - a plastic table with 6 chairs - a very nice place to have your alfresco dinner. With the movable grill and the kitchen facilities provided in the villa, you can prepare delicious home made dishes and enjoy a bottle of traditional Bulgarian wine.

Disclaimer: The villa owners arrange and provide the maintenance of the pool and the garden directly.

Notes: Villa Sentinela is fully air-conditioned. Satellite TV available only in the living room. Pool size: 8 x 4 x 1,50 metres. Parking space for 2 cars is provided in the villa yard. The close proximity to Villa Jasmine (10 sleeps) and Villa Lilly (8 + 2 sleeps), gives the great opportunity for accommodating really large groups close to each other.
Access to the villa:. Please, have in mind, that the last 100 m. to the villa are on a bumpy road, which is not suitable for sport cars.

Changeover day: Flexible according to the current availability.
Car hire: Recommended. Check this page for more information:

- Varna airport - 40 km.
- Bourgas airport - 175 km.

- A local restaurant - 100 m.

Places of interest:

- Balchik (about 12 000 population) is a charming town, located 47 km north of Varna city. It is like an amphitheatre on the very seashore. The Royal Palace, the Botanical garden, the churches, the Museum of History together with many other attractions make Balchik one of the most visited resorts on the Black sea coast. The Balchik port played an important role in the town's development, being the third sea-side port in terms of significance after the ones in Varna and Burgas. The unique nature and the ancient history make the today's romantic charm of Balchik - a constant source of inspiration for artists, poets and artists.
- The Royal Palace and the Botanical garden in Balchik. The official name of the palace was the Quiet Nest Palace. It was constructed between 1926 and 1937, during the Romanian rule of the region, for the needs of Queen Maria of Romania. Attracted by the beauty and the romanticism of the seaside town, inspired by the centuries-old trees, the wild flowers and the bird species in the region, Queen Maria of Romania selected Balchik to build her summer residence. The palace complex consists of a number of residential villas, a smoking hall, a wine cellar, a power station, a monastery, a holy spring, a chapel and many other buildings, as well as most notably a park that is today a state-run botanical garden. In 1955 the Balchik Botanical Garden was established at the place of the palace's park. It has an area of 65,000 m² and accommodates 2000 plant species. One of the garden's main attractions is the collection of large-sized cactus species arranged outdoors on 1000 m².
- Kaliakra cape is the longest cape on the Bulgarian coast. The picturesque cape is located about 30 km north from Balchik. Kaliakra cape stretches 2 km deep into the sea and consists of 60-70 m high limestone rocks, the inaccessibility of which has been the main reason for the construction of an ancient fortress named Tirisis there. According to local tradition forty girls, the sole survivors of a Turkish attack, tied their long plaits of hair together and jumped to their deaths, rather than be raped by the victors. Nowadays Kaliakra is a nature reserve, where dolphins, shags and a numbers of typical steppe birds can be observed, it is one of the very good birdwatching sites in Bulgaria.
- Kavarna town is one of the relatively bigger towns along the Black Sea coast with its population of a bit over 12 200. On the high hill of Chirakman, which is 3 km away from Kavarna, still can be seen remains of Roman fortresses and medieval town. Kavarna, recognised today as the Rock capital of Bulgaria with so many concerts of world famous bands and artists like Apocalyptica, Deep Purple, Saxxon, Ronnie James Dio, Scorpions, Accept, Destruction, Gamma Rey and Victory, turns into an attractive place for a holiday, combining the modern comfort with a unique atmosphere, at the same time preserving its tranquility and charm.
- Durankulak and Shabla lakes - The Durankulak lake was declared a protected area in 1983 as part of the measures for the preservation of endangered species. It is also where one of the two major birth migration routes passes -the so-called "Via Pontika". Near the lakes of Shabla and Durankulak there are law-protected damp areas of international importance. These territories are the most significant winter quarters in Europe for many water birds. The Shabla Lake is one of the biggest habitats of teh White Water Lily and Yellow Water Lily in Bulgaria. The lakes give shelter also to the Otter, which is a rare animal species in Europe.

Hi Gergana We are safely home and I'm sorry I have not been in touch with you yet. I wanted to thank you for your help throughout the whole process.I asked Velina to pass on our thanks to you as you and Velina were very helpful. We very much enjoyed our stay and would like to return. We mentioned a few small things to Velina which we thought could make a small but important difference. These were: Kettle kept warm so believe Is faulty. Toaster poor. BBQ/grill too small. No bottled water in villa so had nothing to drink and arrived in middle of night (a very important little point in our opinion). Otherwise it was all good. We really enjoyed our stay. For your information the near restaurant is excellent and we are there regularly. Best wishes Chris

Hi Pavlina, We had a great stay at Villa Sentinela. This was already our second stay at the villa and most likely not the last one (and the third stay in the Balchik Villa area). I’ve already started to plan our next summer holiday and I’m quite sure we will meet next summer again :) Best regards, Johanna

Villa Sentinela
Hello Pavlina Thank you for your kind thoughts. Yes, we are back home safe and happy. :) We are happy because we had the most beautiful holyday ever. We have never try this kind of staying and I am very happy for making this choice. It was just perfect that Sentinela happened to be the first. I liked the house, and I’ve said to your colleague to change the photo on the website because the house it’s more beautiful than in those pictures. Now I’m thinking not to tell anyone about it and keep it just for me :) I’m just kidding of course, but this is the impression. Your services was impeccable, the owner was very kind. The clean, the area, the courtyard, the pool, everything was just perfect. You must know that we’ve been only 4 times at the beach in Albena!!! The rest of time we’ve stayed at ‘ the little house, with the little pool’ as my both children asks over and over again :) The restaurant ‘Silvia The steak house’ it’s absolutely fabulous. The people are very kind and the food it’s very good and for all peoples. You might think to advertise together with the restaurant for this villa and other villas in the area. The restaurant was the thing that make our stay more than perfect. Thank you again Best regards, Roxana

Villa Sentinela
Hello, dear Pavlina, I had in plan writting to you about our vacation at Villa Sentinela. It was great!!! We loved it! Everything was perfect and we had no reason to complain. The villa was very clean and we found there everything we needed. If we missed something, the villa manager imeaditely would purchase for us. The garden was great for us, having 1 little child of 2 years and without hazards or other things that could cause accidents. I recommend this villa for famillies with children of any age. Our children were so excited with the villa and the pool, that we went to the beach only once. We discovered that there is a 10 minutes walk to the beautiful sea cliffs and 15 minutes to the castle, so we spent our evenings for long walks in the beautiful landscape. Self-cattering was easy to manage, as we had a little shop in the neighbourhood and for more shopping we used the supermarkets in Balchik. We recomend for future customers to eat at 2 restaurants on the seaside, near the castle, both with delicious food at good price. One is the one belonging to Regina Maria Hotel and the other belongs to the castle, and is called Corona. On the other hand, we would not recommend the aquapark in Golden Sands (Aquapolis), as it is a very badly managed entertainment place, with lots of dangers (one of our child cut in a piece of glass) and extremely bad and expensive services. We would like to thank you and also to the villa manager, who was very prompt in helping us with everything, including immediate support to take us to emergency hospital, when, unfortnately was the case. I really have only good things to say about the accomodation and we think you deliver really proffesional services. We will surely come back next year and we'll recommend it to our friends !!! kind regards :) Madalina from Romania P.S. Please post my reply on your site and mention in the text also that we think the villa was very clean and looks better than in the pictures.

Villa Sentinela
Hi Tina, I just wanted to thank you, and Vessy, for all your assistance in making our stay at Villa Sentinela a wonderful experience. Having safely arrived at Varna Vessy led the way to the villa and was most helpful in her desire for us to enjoy our time in Bulgaria and resolve any concerns we may have had. Bulgaria is a truly beautiful country. Vessy kindly supplying us with a road map once we told her we wanted to explore the area, although I think to start with she was a bit bemused by our plans. We travelled in land and visited Veliko Tarnovo, the open-air museum at Etar, the living museum at Tryavna, Bacho Kiro Cave, assorted monasteries, and explored the edges of the Balkan Range. During our stay we also visited Dobrich, Pobiti Kamani, Varna city, Aladzha Monastery, Kavarna, Tuzlata and of course the Palace and Gardens in Balchik. We even went to Albena, but in all honesty that wasn't really the kind of place we enjoy. The villa exceeded our expectations in it's comfort and facilities. Most evenings we walked to Balchik town along the sea front for our evening meal, enjoying a different restuarant each night, always delighting in the superb foods. We only ate at the villa for breakfast having stocked up with lots of delicious honey, fresh fruits bought from the roadside and meats and cheeses from the supermarket. We loved every minute of our 2 week stay and our only regret is we couldn't stay longer to explore more of Bulgaria and experience it's beauty and extremely friendly people. I hope Bulgaria doesn't get too over developed over the next few years and that it always retains the beauty, charm and innocence that I fell in love with. Thank you again for a lovely holiday. Should you speak with Vessy prehaps you would be kind enough to once more pass on our thanks to her too. Fondest regards
